The System

Prime Irrigation designed installations, individually programmable to take account of local site requirements and conditions. Incorporating the high quality Rain Bird range of lawn and turf irrigation equipment which has been installed in systems throughout the UK, and world wide, for many years and has proved it’s reliability and efficiency in service.

All systems are individually tailored to suit existing and future requirements.

The Equipment

Sprinklers - Rain Bird Eagle series long range rotary, sectoring sprinklers with high performance nozzles capable of being fine tuned for optimum range and arc for maximum sprinkler efficiency. The large radius of throw is effective in combating windy conditions.

Control valves - can be incorporated within the sprinkler (valve-in-head) or arranged to operate multiple sprinklers (block control). Both types are actuated by efficient solenoids and have water proof electrical connections.

Irrigation controller - easy to operate controller with micro-processor accuracy and many useful features e.g. a six or seven day calendar, programmable for specific days of the week (even days, odd days, third day watering etc.), manual or semi-automatic operation and compensation for natural rainfall.

Pump and electrical switchgear - Pumping capacity will be matched to system requirements. Only top quality vertical, multi-stage, stainless steel pumps are employed in Prime Irrigation systems. Electrical starter/control panels are individually built to suit the specific requirements of the system and local electricity supplies.

Water storage tank - The capacity of the water storage tank will be determined by the overall requirement of the system and the water available from local sources. The higher the incoming flowrate then the smaller the tank can be. Tanks can be supplied for above ground use or for burial and are available in many materials.

Underground mains - To transport the water to the sprinklers a network of underground mains will be required from the pumping station. Medium density polyethylene (MDPE) is used for this purpose and low voltage control cables, for automatic control, are usually installed along side the main. Mains/cables can be installed by open trenching or by vibratory mole plough which causes very little disturbance. Site access and conditions will determine the method employed.

Installation - Carried out to the highest possible quality by our own, directly employed, staff using appropriate machinery and with many years of experience.

The system will be fully commissioned prior to us leaving the site and training will be given in the safe and effective use of all system components.
